You have to climb 400 steps to get to the top of this 14th century tower but it is well worth the climb. Once at the top, you will be richly rewarded with breathtaking views of the city as well as the outlying Tuscany countryside. Make sure you bring your camera for excellent photo opportunities.
Castello di Brolio Winery
A visit to Siena would not be complete without touring one of its fabulous wineries. The Castello di Brolio is an excellent choice. Family owned and operated since 1141, this winery site features a splendid 11th century castle as its centerpiece. You can opt for different tours which include the castle with its lovely Italian garden and family cemetery, the vineyards and wine cellars, or the museum. The tours also include wine samplings in the tasting room. Additionally, you can dine in the lovely restaurant and browse in the wine shop.
